Bowdens mine

Mine Type: Open-cut 

Location: New South Wales, Australia 

Reserves: 29.9 million tonnes 

Life of mine: 23 years

The Bowdens silver project in New South Wales could see its operations expanded, as Silver Mines has secured approval from the Independent Planning Commission of News South Wales for new developments, subject to conditions of consent. The project is an open-cut silver, lead and zinc mine that is expected to extract and process up to two million tonnes of ore per annum.

Pilgangoora project

The Pilgangoora Mine

Mine Type: Mining and processing 

Location: Western Australia, Australia 

Reserves: 159 million tonnes 

Life of mine: 26 years

Pilbara Minerals’s Pilgangoora project could see its capacity increased, as the company has approved a final investment decision for the P1000 Project in Western Australia. The facility will see a $375m investment to increase its spodumene concentrate production capacity from approximately 680,000 tonnes per annum to nearly one million tonnes per annum.

Casino mine

The Casino Mine

Mine Type: Open-pit Mine 

Location: Yukon, Canada 

Reserves: 2.2 billion tonnes, measured and indicated

Life of mine: 27 years

Western Copper and Gold, which owns the Casino copper-gold project in Yukon, has agreed to sell a stake to Mitsubishi Materials. The Japanese company will acquire approximately 5% of issued and outstanding shares of Western Copper and Gold, with each share valued at $2.63.
