Lake Giles Iron Project

Lake Giles is an open-pit iron ore mining project proposed to be developed by Macarthur Minerals. 

A feasibility study for the project was announced in March 2022. It indicated a 25-year mine life with an estimated initial capital cost of $568.8m. An additional $43.8m capital cost is estimated to be required for pre-strip operations.

Location: Western Australia

Reserves: 621.1Mt

The Boddington gold mine (BGM) is an operating open-pit mine located 130km from Perth, Western Australia (WA). It is one of the largest gold-producing mines in the country. 

The $2.4bn project was initially a three-way joint venture between Newmont Mining (Newmont), AngloGold Ashanti (AngloGold), and Newcrest Mining.

Location: Western Australia 

Reserves: 583.4Mt

The Caravel copper project is an open-pit mine planned for development by Caravel Minerals. 

A pre-feasibility study (PFS) for the project was announced in July 2022. It highlighted a robust ore reserve with a 28-year mine life and initial investment of approximately $813m.
