Bastion Minerals to acquire Ninnis gold project in Western Australia
Bastion Minerals has signed an agreement with its director Raymond Muskett and Kevin Woodthorpe, an unrelated party of the company, to acquire 100% of the issued capital of Muskwood, the owner of the Ninnis gold project (E39/2110) in Northern Goldfields, Western Australia. The acquisition aligns with Bastion’s strategy to target early-stage Australian gold projects and further expand its portfolio within a tier 1 mining jurisdiction. Pacific Nickel Mines to sell Kolosori project to Green Rock
Pacific Nickel Mines (PNM) subsidiary Pacific Nickel International has agreed to sell 100% of its shares in the Kolosori nickel project in the Soloman Islands to Green Rock under a share sale and purchase agreement. A key element of the deal is the Glencore (financier of the project) deed of release, which releases PNM from all liabilities under the Glencore secured facility agreement, which currently guarantees $22m (A$33.85m), plus around $8.6m in accrued interest borrowed by PNM.
MinRes, POSCO sign binding deal for lithium partnership
Mineral Resources (MinRes) and POSCO Holdings signed a binding agreement to form a lithium joint venture (JV) partnership, with MinRes holding a 70% stake in the new JV. POSCO is set to acquire a 30% stake in MinRes’ operational lithium business, paying an upfront cash consideration of $765m. The new JV will hold MinRes’ 50% ownership of the Wodgina and Mt Marion mines, the transaction values of which are around $3.9bn.
GNM acquires Catalyst Ridge project in California
Great Northern Minerals (GNM) has completed the acquisition of the Catalyst Ridge rare earth element (REE) and antimony project at Mountain Pass district in California’s Mojave Desert, placeing GNM in a prime location for REE and antimony mining within the district. The company will now issue consideration securities related to the deal. Following deal completion, GNM is expected to have a cash balance of around $3.06m.
